Overview
Sellers can keep their products in Walmart fulfilment centres by using Walmart Fulfilment Services (WFS). We will choose, package, and send the item to the consumer on your behalf when they place an order on Walmart.com. For these orders, WFS also manages customer service and returns.
With the programme, you can concentrate more of your time on growing sales, knowing that your orders will be fulfilled promptly and with exceptional customer service.
WFS offers access to Walmart’s omni-channel capabilities, including our Free & Easy Returns programme, as part of its end-to-end fulfilment experience. Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How is the WFS program different from competitors in the industry?
A: Keeping in step with Walmart history and values, we are working hard to build a convenient, transparent, and easy-to-use ecommerce fulfillment program. It’s a program that third-party sellers and brands can trust while still having control over their business. Walmart is a pioneer in transforming retail into an omnichannel experience. We offer third-party partners the ability to leverage Walmart 1P capabilities to help reach new shoppers wherever they are or however they want to shop.
The WFS program offers sellers a fast, low-cost fulfillment service to grow their businesses and reach new customers. Sellers also get access to Walmart’s omnichannel capabilities such as our Free & Easy Returns program – a competitive advantage that no other 3PL service can offer. Our teams and tools are available to help sellers make the best decisions in item selection, brand offerings, and inventory forecasting. If you need to contact Seller Support, you can create a case under the category Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) or contact Partner Support directly. (Contact information is available during onboarding.) Your dedicated Support team is available to answer questions Monday to Sunday:
5:00 AM to 10:00 PM MST | Mon–Fri
5:00 AM to 3:30 PM MST | Sat
12:00 PM to 10:00 PM MST | Sun
Q: Do I have to be a current Marketplace seller to enroll in WFS?A: Yes, you must be a Marketplace seller to join WFS. Once you’ve created an account, add your WFS details and get ready to send your first Walmart-fulfilled item.
Q: Do you fulfill items not sold on Walmart.com?
A: WFS will only fulfill items sold on Walmart.com. However, we’ll pilot the fulfillment of additional items in the near future.
Q: What does the ideal assortment look like?
A: We recommend that our WFS sellers bring their best-selling items to Walmart.com. We prefer premium brands or items not currently listed on Walmart.com. Refer to our Product Requirements for specific item information. Our best practices indicate that GMV growth is best achieved by setting up a minimum of 50 SKUs and keeping inventory continually replenished.
Q: What types of items are not a good fit for WFS?
A: Participating items should be priced competitively to win the Buy Box and perform well in WFS. Products that have multiple offers on Walmart.com may not be a good fit for the program. We also don’t recommend including products that have poor item page content as those listings may not convert well.
Q: What can sellers do to accelerate revenue lift with WFS?
A: Based on WFS successes, we suggest:
- Prioritizing items and brands new to Walmart.com
- Selecting products that are priced competitively
- Ensuring high-quality item page content
- Providing enough inventory to meet customer demand
- Joining the Walmart Sponsored Products program to increase item visibility on Walmart.com
- Ensuring participating items meet Walmart Marketplace guidelines for prohibited/restricted products
Q: Can I talk to other sellers who have participated in the WFS program?
A: See our customer testimonials on the WFS program page.Q. Are there inventory requirements or a SKU minimum to participate in WFS?
A: At this time, there are no minimum requirements. We recommend you set up at least 50 items with continuous inventory replenishment to see the full value and GMV growth we hope to help you build with WFS.
Q: Do WFS items have any special branding on Walmart.com?
A: WFS items are displayed with a Fulfilled by Walmart tag to indicate that Walmart fulfills these Marketplace orders. In addition, items shipped within two days get 2-Day Shipping tags, which increases customer confidence thereby helping you organically create better search results.
Q: How does the customer returns process work?A: Walmart processes and handles all WFS customer returns. Customers follow existing Marketplace returns processes. However, all return shipping labels are set to Walmart fulfillment centers for inspection and handling.
Q: How does inbound shipping work?A: You’ll create an inbound order, including item and shipment details, in Seller Center. You’ll then be assigned a fulfillment center to send your inventory to.
We also offer the WFS Preferred Carrier Program with discounted shipping rates for small parcel and less-than-truckload shipments. Once you’ve set up your WFS items and are ready to ship inventory, you can access this service in Seller Center.
Q: What type of packaging options do you offer?
A: All of your WFS-fulfilled orders ship in standard Walmart-branded packaging.
Q: Will you ship internationally?
A: No. At this time, we only ship orders to addresses within the 50 United States.
Q. Can I send items to WFS that have been prohibited by Marketplace?
A: WFS is a Walmart Marketplace service, so we do not circumvent decisions made by the Trust and Safety team. If you have questions regarding prohibited items or brand implications, create a case with Seller Support.
